0 - 12 Children's Centres

We have developed our Children’s Centres so they meet the needs of the local community - no one centre is the same. Each of the centres work with partners to offer a range of services to meet your child's needs all in one place. There is a core set of services they aim to provide to support for families from pregnancy until 12-years-old.

What do we do

Children’s Centres deliver groups and sessions on a number of different topics including:

  • child and family health services - antenatal, postnatal, baby self-weigh
  • parenting support
  • child development and learning – Stay and Play, Baby and Me, Dad and Me, Little Explorers
  • Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – Stay and Sign, sessions for parents and carers to connect, SEND Stay and Play
  • feeding – breastfeeding (Brasserie), Introducing Solids
  • speech and language
  • first aid
  • wellbeing
Staff can also provide information, advice and support on things including childcare, education, domestic abuse and healthy relationships.  Check your local centre's calendar of events to see what is running there.
